Privacy policy

This policy describes how VoltRaah: EV Charging Points handles information when you use the Android app or this website.

Information we collect

When you register, we store your name, email address, mobile number, selected city and a one-way password hash. We store session tokens as hashes. If you contact support, we store the name, email address, subject and message you submit. We do not ask for device location permission; searches use the city, area or PIN code you enter.

Why we use it

We use account details to provide login, save your default city, secure your account and respond to support requests. We use search terms to return charging station results. Station information is obtained from Open Charge Map contributors and cached in our database.

Ads and third parties

The public Android app displays Google AdMob banner ads. Google may process device and advertising information under its own policies. Where required, the app requests ad consent and offers ad privacy options. Test builds use Google's test ads. Directions open a maps app chosen by your device; that app handles the destination under its own privacy policy.

Storage and security

Our backend stores account and support data in MySQL. Passwords are hashed, sessions expire, and account records are restricted to authorised administrators. Production traffic must use HTTPS. No internet service can promise absolute security.

Retention and deletion

Account details remain while your account exists. You can permanently delete your account in the app under Account, or through our web deletion page. Deletion removes your account and its sessions. Support requests may remain so we can respond and maintain a record of the request; contact us through the support page to request removal of a support message.
